Recruiter spotlight questions:
Tell us a little about yourself?
I am an outgoing target driven individual with a huge desire to enhance people’s careers and lifestyles as well provide exceptional services to my loyal client base. After hours I am a father, husband and co-parent of two dogs. I love the outdoors and spending quality time with my family. Originally, I am from a finance background with two major banks before the recruitment “bug” bit.
Job title+ Areas of expertise?
I am the CA Engineering Team Manager specializing in the Engineering and Construction sectors looking to make CA Global one of the top boutique recruitment agencies in these sectors.
Academic background?
Studied at the school of life after Matriculating back in the days when Dinosaurs were till roaming the free world.
Fun fact about yourself?
I can recite the periodic table of elements, for some bizarre reason!
Who is your role model and why?
Richard Branson, because he just never gives up. He believes so much in himself and his capabilities that he knows he will be successful, as he has proven.
Advice for clients/candidates?
Be yourself, be honest and be ethical. This applies to both client and candidate.
Which country within Africa do you think will be the next hot spot and why?
Kenya / Angola, due to both governments making changes in house. These countries are becoming high investment return areas for international companies looking to invest into Africa.
What is your outlook within your industry over the next 5 years?
The local construction industry’s growth will be driven by government plans to increase the share of renewable energy in terms of total installed electricity capacity and encourage investment in renewable energy infrastructure.
CA Global is a big believer in Africa, why do YOU believe in Africa?
Africa is the world’s second largest continent and it is home to more than 1.2 billion people. The continent also possesses about 10% of the world’s petroleum reserves, and it holds about 90% of the world’s cobalt, 90% of the world’s platinum, 50% of the world’s gold, 98% of the world’s chromium, and one-third of the world’s uranium. There are also vast tracts of farmland under cultivation, with infrastructure and construction on the rise throughout the continent. I believe in Africa as we see an increasing number of our African leaders looking to serve their people and countries and less themselves as has already occurred in Ethiopia, Mauritius, Ghana, and Tanzania with hopefully many more to follow soon.
